If performance is a friend of high end hardware alone, It’s never a good sign. Not everyone who loves performance can afford a flagship device. This is where Android Go Platform comes to picture. Android Go is undoubtedly the most efficient version for low-end devices, Where google cuts out all the crap from the system and it’s apps. This version of android not only saves the amount of storage the apps use, but also reduces the memory usage drastically over 100 to 600%. Seems like Microsoft is inspired with this approach of google, trying to release something like a GO version for Windows 10 devices, Windows 10 LEAN.
What is windows 10 lean ?
Windows 10 Lean, termed by the analysts as the most stripped down version of windows 10 yet. we all know windows 10S is the version for low-end devices which promises faster boot times, better battery life & performance. However windows 10S is going to be a mode in the future versions of windows 10, A developer recently noticed Windows 10 Lean along with the standard installer.
This new lite-weight version windows 10 Lean is soo minimalisitic that it 2GB less in size compared with the standard versions of windows 10. The lack of default wallpapers & registry editor also implies the probability of “LEAN” to be an OS for IOT devices. However as of now nothing is official yet. Still expecting some official statement from Microsoft.
Welcome to Windows 10 Lean/CloudE/S (once again?)
This new edition started shipping with this week's Skip Ahead build (17650)
It seems to be heavily cut down, an x64 clean install is roughly 2 GB smaller than Pro
Its edition ID is 0xB7 which was missing from SDK headers pic.twitter.com/2Sn3SVXeZB
